7 Weeks!
Things have finally slowed down.
I had a great last few weeks with my 5th grade babies. I tried to fit in as much fun as I could and keep them learning. Basically, my kids and I were reading a really awesome book that took us all the way to the last day of school and earned a round of applause after we finished.
My kids and I took a stand on our last party day of the year this year, too. We have a day called "Buddy Fun Day" which is our field day. However, due to the size of our school, the kids only get about an hour and a half to actually do the fun outside activities. The rest of the day is a party day. Instead of the normal 100 cupcakes, 15 bags of chips, 7 large pizzas, 13 12 liter sodas, cookies, and other junk food, my kids and I decided to get subway, fresh fruit, lemonade, plain chips, and I made cookies. Guess what was gone first! -The fruit! I was so proud! We ate, read a few chapters in our book, and spent the rest of the day outside at recess. I had a watermelon seed spitting contest with some of my girls!
Can you tell that it was a first for most of them?
They quickly got the hang of it.
That is probably one of my favorite memories from this year!
Right after Buddy Fun Day, my friend, Ashlee, and I jumped in the car and went to Fredricksburg to meet up with our friend, Bekah to do some fun shopping and catching up. It was great to see Bekah. I miss her from our good ol' college days!
Ashlee and I then went to Canyon Lake to see our friend Lacy and her parents. They just moved to a beautiful lake house and were kind enough to show us a great time on the lake!
It was a great Memorial Weekend!

They have a spectacular view that we all enjoyed!
I love this picture of Lacy, The Word, and a beautiful sunset.

After that great weekend, I enjoyed my last four days of school. Jared helped me move out of my room on Wednesday so I could join his family and my parents at Camp Creek for the weekend. It, as every stay at Camp Creek always is, was great. I had so much fun playing with Reid and Macy!
I may have broken a few laws to get this picture, but I just love driving with the windows down on abandoned back roads. I noticed that I had a cool shot of the sunset in my mirror and I decided to take it.
I just know I'm going to miss the peace of Texas back roads.
Macy took off running toward the water every time she went outside. I love this picture of a protective Daddy and his girl.

Macy loves her Grandpa.
The weekend at Camp Creek was great! I really didn't want to go back for inservice on Monday. I could have stayed in the hammock for weeks!
Alas, I had to go back to school for our last day of inservice and say the dreaded goodbyes. I was already crying after being there for about an hour. My sweet friend, Terri, came to say goodbye early. Terri is fighting cervical cancer right now. She helped me get through my first years and has been such a great friend. I love her and pray for her to get better soon. She is missed at work.

After saying goodbye and crying and such, I feel more vulnerable that my security blanket of my Otis Brown family is gone. I would be lying if I said I didn't go into hermit mode for a few days. I'm excited about moving, but it has been a lot to take in.

I am feeling more and more prepared as the weeks go by, but I still don't know exactly what to expect as God leads me in this journey. I bought a few books on South Korea and Seoul today. I feel more comfortable knowing more about the culture and such. I received information on assignments that my kiddos next year have over the summer, so I am going to look over that and start getting some things prepared for next year.
It will be nice to work on that.
For now, I am constantly praying for peace and trust in the Lord. He is good, all the time. I will use my remaining summer soaking up family and friend time, and preparing for my move to Seoul!
